Everything a backpacker to Bali needs when visiting the South Kuta area. A social hostel. Lots of travellers from all over passed through here, we meet people from all over. You will make lots of new friends whether it’s just for the night, whole time in Bali or for longer.
Everyone gathers either around the pool area or in the entrance area. This area has a large table to sit around, for the time just before you are about to head out for the evening. The pool area is the best bit though, it’s the centre part of the hostel, all the room doors are surrounding it. So as soon as you come down from the first floor, or out of your dorm room door.. BOOM pool area. Bean bags are scattered around the edge, along with a few tables and chairs if you prefer these.
The rooms are smaller dorms with six beds in (three bunk beds). They had small lockers on one side of the wall for your precious things but there aren’t any bigger lockers under the beds here. However only the people staying in that room, have a key to that room. Each of these rooms have a bathroom with a shower and toilet, so they aren’t overcrowded, and you don’t have to have that awkward corridor moment where you run in your towel because you have forgotten a piece of clothing.
The hostel location is just a five-minute walk down the road from the start of the main bars area, ‘The Strip’ if you will. Yes Kuta is a bit like that.. not so traditional Bali at this place, but great fun all the same! You only really want a few nights in this area before exploring the rest and the best of rural Bali.
We paid a total of 180,000 IDR here for the two of us to have a dorm bed for a night. That is the equivalent of £2.80, for the both of us. It was well within budget to have a few nights.
