Spicy Pai Hostel Review

This hostel, man this hostel. This was such a vibe. Just one quick glance on the link below before you read on will make you want to go. It didn’t have a waterpark, it didn’t have slides going into a lake, but it was beautiful.

Thatched roofs, open plan, all made from wooden beams inside; including all the frames for the bunk beds. They had maximized all the space so they built some of the bunks higher up so you had to climb a lander to get into them. Single and double bed ones so perfect for travel couples as well. You could fit your large back under the bed but no larger lockers for these. Smaller lockers for valuables as always. To be honest it just wasn’t that sort of place, you could probably leave something out and no one would take it. Everyone who stayed here just wanted a chilled, relaxing time. No dramas and no worries. If you did want your own room there they did have these in a separate building. We paid £3 per bed per night I believe for this one, if you wanted a private room I believe they come in at around £9 per night.

The main area for lounging was the same as the dorm rooms; one high thatched room with hammocks all around for chill time. An open place flooring for everyone to sit, chat and have beers. They had a fire pit around the back of the hostel where a few people gathered around for drinks in the evening. Don’t worry it was far away from all the thatched buildings.

Surrounding the hostel was farm fields with multiple haystacks, it was amazing to watch the sunrise over them. It was wonderful all times of the day, so peaceful and warming. It was just a 5 minute moped ride into the centre of Pai or you could walk which only took about twenty minutes. Perfect location for R&R or for socialising, your choice. Also within walking distance of the Sunset bar just down the road from the hostel.

Also make sure to try the food at this hostel, it was some of the best hostel food we ever had. We never usually ate at the hostels cause we always wanted to try food from street vendors or markets. However this food was extremely good here so we had around 4 meals out of our 5 night stay plus the breakfast on top. Delicious.

So prime location, great food, beautiful scenery, can you ask for more?
