We only stayed at this hostel for two nights but for those two nights it had everything we wanted and needed for this part of our trip. We just wanted somewhere comfortable to have a bit of a chill before we were to move on to Vietnam.
They have six bed mixed dorm rooms so they aren’t too big which were about £3 a night. You could go for an eight or ten bed dorm which were about £6. Depending on the dorm room you went for they either had them set up in bunk beds or just single beds. If you didn’t want to go for a dorm room, they had private rooms with an ensuite available as well for around £13 per night. Each bed had it’s own small locker on one wall for any valuable items. They didn’t have any under bed lockers for your larger bags. The rooms were just simple and tidy, you couldn’t ask for more. The bathrooms are also kept in the same condition.
The pool was the most attractive thing about this hostel. You can lounge outside meeting other travellers or just chill out and have a beer while relaxing in the afternoon. We didn’t use the indoor social space as we were too intrigued by the pool. But it was large with lots of comfortable places to sit where you could use the Wi-Fi or socialise. They also had a pool table in the bar area which was a nice addition.
We didn’t really interact at all with the staff here but check in was easy and if they were behind the bar they were always pleasant.
Location of the hostel was excellent. Right in the middle of the city which gave to easy access to walk to any bars and restaurants if you wanted to head along to the river front area. If you needed to go to the Vietnamese Embassy it was only twenty-minute walk away. The Russian Markets were the same distance but in a different direction to the Embassy from the hostel. You could walk to the S21 Museum from the hostel if you wanted to but because you would go to the Killing Fields afterwards you may as well just get a tuk-tuk for the whole day.
