There is a huge amount of countries which are so far away from where you live. So many wonders but they are the other side of the world. Well why not stop somewhere on the way over there? Want to visit New Zealand from the UK or Australia from the US or Europe from Australia. Travel time could be up to twenty four hours or even longer. Fair play to the travelers out there who would just want to get it over and done with in one shot but have you ever been completely put off by the travel time? Like majority of people in the world who are not fortune enough to afford business class flights which have a fully flat bed for recovery, four thousand pounds for one ticket, um no thanks. Well why not break up the journey? So many people I have consulted have been so put off with the idea that when flying from the UK to New Zealand; “it’s too far”, “I hate the long flying time”, “but it’s such a long way to go”. Do you know what? Yes, yes it is. So let’s sort that out.
Did you know there is around five thousand airlines in the world? Five thousand! This number includes all the local light airlines and grated you aren’t going to get on Garuda airlines to fly thirteen hours but my point is there is a lot of choice. Have a think whether a stop over would be something you are interested in. This article is going to appeal to everyone so they may not be suitable depending on where you live. Hopefully you will get the jist. It will help you to make that long journey which you have been putting off for so long and what’s more you may even be excited to explore that first location just as much as the final destination!
All airlines have to go their main hub; that’s just the way it is. Singapore Airlines guess where it goes through? Correct, shock, it’s Singapore. Five hours plus depending where you are flying from in Australia also a huge amount of direct flights from majority of larger cities. It also has a huge amount different sites and activities to keep you occupied: Gardens Of The Bay, Singapore Zoo, Universal Studios, Sentosa Island, Clarke Quay Street Food Market and Marina Bay Sands hotel are just a few. Two or three nights is all you need. Even if you wanted to just go for the night you will feel refreshed for the rest of your journey and you can tick another country off your list! Result.
Already been to Singapore? Or not in the right direction for your travel? Ok here is some more how about Hong Kong? Bangkok? Mumbai? London? New York? San Francisco? Honolulu? Vancouver? Los Angeles? Miami? Bogota? Rio? Buenos Aires? Santiago? Mexico City? Hanoi? Ho Chi Minh? Manila? Kuala Lumpar? Dubai? Abu Dhabi? Muscat? Doha? Perth? Auckland? Is that enough? Do I need to continue? All these cities have their own airline therefore will have to transit through them to be able to get to the final destination so why not add on some time and a new exciting place to the journey.
These cities may not appeal to you, they may not have anything you are interested in, however I guarantee you, you don’t know enough about them. This is ok, even I am not educated in all of them, I’ve not been to every single one but if you do some research there is bound to be something of interest to you. Let’s take Abu Dhabi for example, Eithad are a fanstatic airline and did you know that is it home to the Grand Mosque which is one of the largest Mosques in the world? It is also home to Ferrari World which holds the fastest roller coaster in the world. Pretty cool right?
Do a bit of research, explore the different possibilities, and add it in if it works for you. Disclaimer alert: it won’t be suitable for everyone. You may not have enough time to add it into your itinerary, you may not be able to get the visa required, you may not have enough money to include it and guess what, you just may not want to. All this is ok, go with what works for you. However,r for those of you who are struggling with the idea of a long flight give this a go and see if it helps. Let me know if you need any help with routing; just drop me a message on my contact page and I will try and respond as quick as I can.
Top Tip: Please be aware of Visas/Country Restrictions when travelling and transiting. I don’t want you coming back to me if you can’t get stuck at an airport anywhere! Enjoy.
